Bulbs designed for extreme conditions

A heavy goods vehicle in intensive service (long-distance transport, urban deliveries, construction sites) subjects its bulbs to stresses 3 to 5 times greater than those of a standard car:

• Permanent mechanical vibrations (road, loading, maneuvers)
• Repeated thermal cycles (multiple switching on/off per day)
• Extreme temperatures: extreme cold in the mountains, high summer heat
• Permanent illumination of dipped beam and daytime running lights

Heavy Duty bulbs are designed for these conditions:

• Reinforced filament with a denser, anti-vibration tungsten alloy
• Higher pressure internal gas which slows down filament sublimation
• Treated high-temperature glass to withstand thermal cycles

Longer lifespan = long-term savings

A standard 24V bulb lasts on average 500 to 1,000 hours. A Heavy Duty 24V bulb often exceeds 2,000 to 3,000 hours, or 2 to 3 times more. For a fleet of transporters or a HGV maintenance workshop, this represents:

• Fewer preventive replacements per truck per year
• Fewer unscheduled stops due to a blown bulb during a run
• Reduced labor time spent on lighting maintenance
• Significantly reduced risk of fines and re-inspections

The initial investment (10 to 30% more than a standard halogen) is paid back in a few months on a heavy-duty vehicle.

All Heavy Duty bulbs in our range comply with the ECE standard (E-mark) mandatory for road traffic in Europe. No risk during heavy goods vehicle technical inspection — the same approved luminosity as standard bulbs, simply with a longer lifespan.
