The R10W: reinforced version of the R5W

The R10W shares everything with the R5W except the wattage:

• Same BA15S base (1 centered pin)
• Same integrated red glass (the red comes from the bulb, not the light assembly)
• Same general use (red position lights)
• 10W instead of 5W — doubled brightness

This increased power is useful on vehicles or applications where the position light needs to be more visible:

• Long commercial vehicles (vans, panel vans)
• Large trailers and caravans
• Agricultural and industrial equipment
• Boats and marine signaling (stern light)

R10W or R5W: which to choose?

Simple rule: always respect the vehicle's original wattage. The reference is written on the original bulb — if "R10W" is engraved, stick to R10W. Installing an R5W instead will not burn anything out but will reduce brightness (the light will be less visible). Installing an R10W instead of an R5W slightly increases the load on the circuit — generally without damage but to be avoided in case of fragile electrical installation.

R10W in LED

Equivalent R10W LEDs are available: comparable brightness to 10W halogen but with reduced consumption (battery saving, useful in caravans/boats) and 10x longer lifespan. Choose a version compatible with 12V (car, standard trailer) or 24V (truck, certain industrial equipment).
