Fuse Assortment Box: The Solution to Never Be Stranded

A blown fuse should never immobilize a vehicle due to a lack of parts. With a complete assortment, you have all common amperages in a single, compact case. Ideal:

  • In the mechanic's toolbox — always have the right fuse on hand
  • In the vehicle's trunk — immediate roadside assistance in case of a breakdown
  • At the workshop workbench — no repair delays due to missing parts
  • In the fleet maintenance room — internal management of replacements

Changing a fuse takes less than two minutes when you have the right part on hand — but you have to have it first.

Choosing Your Assortment According to Your Use

Several configurations depending on your usage profile:

  • Standard ATO assortment (3 A to 30 A, 19 mm format) — the most universal format for passenger cars. The bare minimum for individuals or general workshops.
  • Mixed ATO + mini ATM assortment — covers the two most common formats. Essential if you work on Japanese vehicles (Toyota, Honda, Nissan) which often use mini fuses.
  • Maxi fuse box (40 A to 100 A) — for high-power installations (RVs, boats, 4x4 winches) and main circuit protection.
  • Single amperage boxes — packets of identical fuses (e.g., 10 units of 10 A) for workshops that want to restock a specific reference in large quantities.
  • Mixed format assortments (ATO + glass + mini) — versatile, ideal for workshops that work on both recent and older vehicles.

Fuses: Always Replace with the Same Value

Regardless of the type of box chosen, a fundamental safety reminder:

  • Always replace a blown fuse with a fuse of the same amperage — the value is marked on the fuse and indicated in the manual or on the fuse box cover.
  • A higher amperage fuse no longer protects the cable and can cause an electrical fire in case of a short circuit.
  • If a fuse blows repeatedly, it is a sign of an underlying electrical fault — a simple replacement is not enough. Diagnose the cause (damaged cable, faulty equipment, overload) before proceeding.
