The BA20s base: the single-filament for scooters

The BA20s is the single-filament (1 centered pin) version of the 20 mm bayonet. Unlike the BA20D double-filament which combines low and high beams, the BA20s only has one light intensity — suitable for scooters and motorcycles without a separate high beam.

Typical uses:

• 50cc scooters with a single headlight
• Old 50cc mopeds
• Small urban motorcycles without separate high beams
• Mopeds (with adaptation depending on the model)

BA20s vs BA20D: avoiding confusion

Visually very similar (same 20 mm diameter), these two bases are not interchangeable:

• BA20s — 1 centered pin (single contact), single-filament, 1 intensity
• BA20D — 2 offset pins (double contact), dual-filament, 2 intensities (low + high beam)

The "s" in BA20s stands for Single contact, the "D" in BA20D stands for Double contact. Counting the number of pins on the original bulb allows you to instantly identify the correct format.

6V or 12V voltage

Depending on the age of the vehicle:

• BA20s 6V — mopeds and scooters from before 1980
• BA20s 12V — modern scooters and small motorcycles

Check the voltage of your vehicle before ordering — generally indicated on the manufacturer's plate or the battery.
