Why choose bulbs by vehicle type?
Each vehicle category operates with its own specific electrical voltage. A modern car runs on 12V, a heavy truck on 24V (two 12V batteries in series), an older car from before 1960 on 6V, and an industrial forklift on 48V. Confusing these voltages immediately results in a blown bulb—or even a risk to the electrical system.
Classification by vehicle is the most reliable method for choosing without error. Identify your vehicle, and all compatible bulbs will be offered to you.
12V Passenger Car — the most comprehensive range
More than 1,000 references covering all 12V automotive lighting needs: headlights (H1, H3, H4, H7, H11, HB3, HB4), tail and brake lights (P21W, P21/5W, BAY15D), interior and dome lights (W5W, T10, C5W festoon bulbs), and dashboard indicator lights (T5, B8.5d, BAX10d). From recent city cars to family sedans, from European models to Asian cars.
Motorcycle and Scooter — 12V and special 6V
Two-wheelers have a peculiarity: their low beams remain on continuously from startup. This prolonged use wears out bulbs more quickly, which explains the frequent need for replacement.
Our motorcycle range covers modern 12V models (H4, H7, BA15S, BAY15D for turn signals and tail lights) and maintains a complete 6V range for mopeds, scooters, and vintage motorcycles (H4 6V, BA20D S2, P26s S3). The motorcycle-specific BA20D and S2 bases are available in standard and long-life versions.
Truck and Heavy Goods Vehicle — all in 24V
Transport vehicles (semi-trailers, buses, coaches, heavy goods trucks) operate on 24V thanks to two 12V batteries connected in series. This voltage allows for reducing cable cross-sections and improving reliability over long distances.
Our 24V range covers headlights (H4, H7, H1 24V), marker lights, interior cabin lighting, and rear signaling. The Heavy Duty range (reinforced anti-vibration filament) is dedicated to professional fleets that prioritize longevity.
Vintage Vehicles and Industrial Forklifts — the forgotten voltages
Cars from before 1960 operated on 6V, and some industrial forklifts on 48V. These are voltages that large auto stores have abandoned, but which remain essential for collectors, restoration workshops, and warehouse maintenance.
Pharos maintains a dedicated range for these specific voltages: 6V bulbs (R5W, BA15S, P45t European Code), 48V bulbs for work lights and Blue Spot signaling on forklifts. A specialist who guarantees the right bulb, even for the rarest vehicles.
