Why buy Bosma brand xenon bulbs?

Bosma brand xenon lights offer a particularly attractive quality/price ratio. Their performance is comparable to that of equivalent products from major renowned brands, such as Philips or Osram, but at a lower cost and in compliance with the same applicable standards. Little known to individuals, it is an interesting alternative widely chosen by professionals.

Bosma xenon bulbs have two color temperatures, allowing you to adapt the lighting according to your sensitivity and preferences:

  • 4300K: a white light.
  • 6000K: a white light with bluish reflections.

Also note that Bosma xenon bulbs come in several references. The difference between the models lies in the type of base, voltage (V), power (W) and type of headlight. They are presented as follows:

  • D1s: integrated base PK32d-2, 85 V / 35 W, projector headlight.
  • D2s: separate base P32d-2, 85 V / 35 W, projector headlight.
  • D2r: separate base P32d-3, 85 V / 35 W, reflector headlight.
  • D3s: integrated base PK32d-5, 42 V / 35 W, projector headlight.
  • D4s: separate base P32d-5, 42 V / 35 W, projector headlight.

The advantages of xenon bulbs

The operation of xenon bulbs allows them to have a longer and wider light beam than classic lights. They diffuse a bluish light that resembles daylight, which improves comfort when driving at night.

They also have the advantage of consuming less than traditional bulbs, while offering much better quality lighting. Their heat release is also lower. A xenon bulb has an intensity of 3000 lumens for a consumption of 35 Watts, whereas a traditional halogen bulb has an intensity of 1600 lumens for a consumption of 55 Watts, i.e. a luminous flux half as important for a consumption almost twice as high.

Finally, know that these headlights have a particularly long lifespan. It is 2,000 hours on average, compared to only 450 hours for traditionally used halogen bulbs.

For reasons of proper functioning, but also insurance, strict regulations must be observed when replacing your xenon headlights. Make sure you use a model compatible with your vehicle and recommended by your manufacturer. In case of doubt, an automotive professional will be able to inform you.

How do xenon bulbs work?

Xenon bulbs work without a filament. They are light sources rather than bulbs as such.

As their name suggests, they are composed of a rare gas: xenon. When a current of 20,000 volts is diffused between the two electrodes located inside the bulb, an electric arc lights up and creates a white light. The light is maintained thanks to the diffusion of an alternating voltage of 85 volts throughout the operation of the bulb.

In most modern vehicles, xenon headlights are connected to the directional system to provide optimal visibility when changing trajectory.
